How many wedding guests can Steeple Hall accommodate?
Steeple Hall accommodates up to 180 guests for a seated ceremony and reception or up to 225 guests for a cocktail-style celebration. The ideal arrangement may vary depending on the selected floor plan, entertainment and event details.
Can we hold our ceremony at Steeple Hall?
Yes. Steeple Hall hosts onsite wedding ceremonies for up to 180 guests. The ceremony and reception take place in the same private event space.
Where does cocktail hour take place?
Cocktail hour can take place inside Steeple Hall. Couples may also reserve Mission Oak Grill for a separate one-hour cocktail reception for an additional fee.
Is Steeple Hall private during our wedding?
Yes. Weddings include private use of the second and third floors of Mission Oak Grill.
How large is the venue?
Steeple Hall offers approximately 3,700 square feet of flexible event space, providing room for dining, dancing and entertainment.
Is there a private changing suite?
Yes. A private changing suite and restroom are available on the mezzanine level.
Is Steeple Hall wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The building has elevator access, and accessible restrooms are available on the event level.
Are tables, chairs and linens included?
The venue rental includes round or hardwood farm tables, Chiavari chairs, flatware, glassware and linens.
Does the Steeple Hall team provide decorations?
Couples are responsible for providing their decorations. The Steeple Hall team assists with the placement and breakdown of approved client-provided décor according to the agreed plan.
Is there room for dancing and live entertainment?
Yes. The 3,700-square-foot venue offers space for a dance floor and a DJ or live band. The final layout depends on guest count, table arrangement and entertainment requirements.
Who provides the catering?
All wedding catering is prepared and provided by Mission Oak Grill. Outside catering is not offered.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Our culinary team can accommodate most dietary restrictions and offers flexible menu options. Couples should discuss allergies and dietary requirements with the Events Sales Director during planning.
What bar options are available?
Steeple Hall offers hosted open-bar, cash-bar and consumption-bar arrangements. Beverage selections and bar details are customized as part of the wedding-planning process.
How long is a wedding at Steeple Hall?
Weddings with an onsite ceremony include six hours of event time. Reception-only weddings include five hours. Vendor access, setup and other scheduling details are coordinated in advance.
Where do guests park?
On-street parking, municipal parking lots and a public garage are available within walking distance of Steeple Hall. Availability and applicable fees are controlled by the City of Newburyport.
Can we have an outdoor ceremony?
Couples may work directly with the City of Newburyport to request the use of nearby Brown Square for an outdoor ceremony. The couple is responsible for city approval, chair rental, delivery, setup and breakdown.
Are there hotels near Steeple Hall?
Downtown lodging options include Garrison Inn, Essex Street Inn, Clark Currier Inn, Compass Rose Inn and Hygge Estate. Fairfield Inn & Suites and Hampton Inn are located approximately 10 minutes away in Amesbury. Couples should contact each property directly regarding availability and room blocks.
Are there nearby wedding photography locations?
Yes. Couples have private use of the second and third floors of Mission Oak Grill. Newburyport’s waterfront boardwalk, downtown streets and city parks are also within a short walk and provide attractive photography locations.
Can Mission Oak Grill host other wedding-weekend events?
Yes. Depending on availability, Mission Oak Grill can accommodate rehearsal dinners, welcome gatherings and farewell brunches.
Do you publish wedding packages online?
Wedding options are customized according to the date, guest count, menu, bar service and celebration style. We invite couples and their families to tour Steeple Hall and speak with our Events Sales Director about the options best suited to their wedding.
